JEWISH QUARTER BUDAPEST WALK

Julia Kravianszky was a very knowledgeable, open minded teacher and tour guide. She clearly loves both the Jewish Quarter and the city of Budapest. As someone who spent more than three decades with the Canadian Jewish Congress, I have written extensively about the Holocaust and its impact on our people.

Walking with Julia through the Jewish Quarter, she shared stories of history, tragedy, resilience, and renewal. She also spoke about the revitalization we are now beginning to see in parts of the community.

Do yourself a favour. If you ever go to Budapest, have Julia as your guide.

BUDAPEST PANORAMA BY CAR (FULL-DAY)

Our travel party of four had a wonderful day with Julia (assisted by her driver George), including pick-up and drop-off at Keleti Rail Station. We were only in Budapest for a day, but Julia brought us on a fabulous “highlights tour” with Hungarian history and heroes, amazing views, architecture, cultural insights, and new perspective on the amazing Magyar people who are charting their own course after so many years of wrestling with empires, world wars and communism.

Julia was delightful to spend the day with – knowledgeable, thoughtful, funny, and well organized with a plan for the day. We kept moving to see as much as possible, but did not feel rushed.
We highly recommend Julia to other travelers – we had and an unforgettable Budapest experience.

COMMUNIST BUDAPEST WALK

We were recently in Budapest and took Julia’s Communist Budapest Tour. I can only say good things about this tour. Julia took the time to show us around, but most importantly, she shared her experiences growing up in occupied Budapest.
Our family found Hungary’s history super interesting, and we took back with us information that will stay with us forever!
I hope we can be back in Budapest and take more of Julia’s tours to learn even more about the city.
Thank you Julia for such a wonderful experience!

Is Gellért Hill Worth It? The Best View in Budapest (UNESCO Protected)

Still looking for the best views in Budapest? You’ll probably hear about rooftop bars, river cruises, or the Fisherman’s Bastion—but if you want a truly panoramic view of the city, there’s one place that stands above the rest: Gellért Hill. Rising high above the Danube on the Buda side, this viewpoint offers one of the

A Timeless Hungarian Craft: Discover Blue Dyeing

There are moments in Hungary when you feel like time slows down. Not in the grand, obvious places—but in the quiet ones. In workshops where hands have been repeating the same movements for generations. In patterns that have been printed again and again, unchanged for centuries. This is where you find kékfestés—Hungarian blue dyeing. A

Spring in Budapest: Cherry Blossoms, New Beginnings, and Hope in the Air

There is something magical about spring in Budapest. After months of grey skies and chilly mornings, the city begins to wake up. The terraces slowly fill with conversation, the parks turn green again, and warm breezes drift through the streets carrying the promise of brighter days ahead. And then, almost suddenly, the cherry blossoms arrive.

Easter in Hollókő: Hungary’s Most Beautiful Living Tradition

Easter in Hollókő is one of Hungary’s most beautiful living traditions, where culture, community, and history come together each spring. There are places where traditions are remembered… and places where they are still lived. Hollókő is one of them. Every Easter, this small UNESCO-listed village in Northern Hungary transforms into something truly special — a
