Absolutely wonderful tour! We didn’t have many days to spend in Budapest and Julia made every minute count. She did an excellent job of giving a history tour and allowing for time for exploration of our choosing. Highly recommend her and this tour!

Julia is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I can’t say enough about the private tour she gave the 4 of us of her beloved city of Budapest. I am a handicapped person and was a little worried if I was going to be able to keep up with all the places Julia was taking us to. There was no problem at all as her driver dropped us off at the closest point possible along with picking us up. She surely does know all the facts and history of her beautiful city and answered all of our questions along the way. She is very friendly, easy to talk to and easy to understand. We covered a lot in our full day tour which was much more than any of us anticipated. When people ask me which Danube River country was my favorite my answer is Hungary. Julia is the reason for that! A private tour with Julia is the way to go to see Budapest. Julia is the BEST! Also, we look forward to making her recipe for goulash that she shared with us!

Have use Julia four times. We have done three city tours and a virtual cooking class. She has done a great job customizing our tours based on our past experiences. After several city tours this becomes a little more challenging. We have seen and experienced so much more than if we had tried to do it all ourselves. She also helped us plan our last day in Budapest with things to do an helped us get a english speaking driver for the day. We highly recommend Julia

We just spent the greatest 7 hours exploring Budapest with Julia! She is energetic, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about Budapest history , its culture, its food and its architecture! We had great conversations and LOTS of laughs! She gave us great dinner recommendations and suggestions for things to do with the rest of our time in Budapest. Our group of 3 hired Julia to do her full day tour of Budapest by car. The experience exceeded our expectations. Julia is very knowledgeable about the history of Hungary and Budapest in general, and all the sites specifically. Her passion and love of her city is evident throughout. She is flexible and will develop an itinerary based on your interests. In the weeks leading up to the tour, she was very responsive to email questions. She also gave us recommendations of things to see and restaurants/pubs to visit on our own. I highly recommend her.

Julia’s tour was perfection. .We saw everything we had hoped for and SO MUCH MORE! Her driver and car were first class-but Julia was the star. As a native, we feel like we learned so much about the people, city and it’s rich history from her. Plus we loved her wit and reading our group to suggest perfect new stops we loved-like the church in a cave and lunch in an eclectic outdoor food court. And our final stop- a promontory overlooking Buda and Pest with more information tying it all together was the best ending. DON’T MISS JULIA’S tour. You’ll enjoy every minute of your time with her.

Hi Julia, We just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how Frank and I enjoyed our “Discover the Best of Budapest” tour with you. You were very informative regarding the history of Budapest both ancient and current. and we learned a great deal about the two cities that we were unaware of prior to the tour. Your tour was by far one of the best tours we have taken in Europe. The sites we visited were breathtaking and your narrative was interesting as well as educational. We especially enjoyed our time we spent with you at the quaint Hungarian restaurant , where we enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by more wonderful touring and ending the day with a treat when we concluded our tour with some drinks and pastries. All in all you made this a memorable visit we won’t forget for a long time and when we look back on our photos we will remember our time with you fondly. Be assured we won’t hesitate to recommend you to our friends who are planning the same River Cruise or even just a trip to Hungary.

We had a fantastic day in Budapest with Julia. The tour was everything we hoped it would be, full of history, personal experiences, and love for this city rich in culture and conflict. It was evident that Julia enjoys sharing Budapest with others. We never felt rushed and we experienced so much. Having a driver that could take us directly into the various districts and locations was a plus. Driving to the top of the Buda Castle (didn’t have to climb the stairs) area saved my knees! We hired Julia Kravianszky as a private tour guide of Budapest. It was a delightful experience seeing Budapest with Julia. She was very knowledgeable about Budapest and the important historical and cultural sites. Julia explained the significance of the many monuments and buildings that we would not have obtained on our own. Having lunch at the Strudel House gave us an introduction to Hungarian strudel, different from German strudel. The market in Pest was a cultural experience. The views from the Buda side of the Danube River were spectacular, and the day ended with a fun ride down the funicular. We had a wonderful time with Julia visiting Budapest, her home town, and highly recommend her services as a private tour guide.

Thus was a fantastic tour by a Budapest local. Julia was an amazing guide…prompt, friendly, courteous and full of information about her hometown. She took us to a local hangout for a traditional lunch and to “off the beaten path” sights to see. Definitely recommend Julia….5+ stars!!!

Julia was fantastic! She picked us up promptly at our cruise ship and showed us around her beautiful city. One of our group is handicapped, and Julia was very patient and accommodating. It was a cold, rainy day but Julia brought us sunshine! She changed the tour to suit our needs and took us to a wonderful lunch spot. Highly recommend.

Julia is a fantastic tour guide . She knows Budapest inside out and has a lot of knowledge about the history, the culture and all the monuments. Her English and French are superb and she is a very nice person . We had a great day touring Buda and Pest with her .

Booked a full day tour with Julia and a driver. They met us at the hotel just as promised. The vehicle was a brand new Merc people hauler and very comfortable. Julia was able to customize the tour on the fly as things came up. Julia was very knowledgeable and curious. A great introduction to Budapest.

This is an excellent comprehensive day tour of Budapest. We highly recommend Julia. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. She very nice and easy/fun to talk with. She was very accommodating with our schedule as we took a train from Vienna. Very nice high quality transportation.

We spent four 8 hours days with Julia with a goal of seeing the best of Budapest and the surrounding areas. She did the planning for our adventure and we were delighted with the sites and all of the information she provided. She was prepared to deal with changing weather conditions so we were always on the move. We highly recommend her service!

The first day was a walking tour. We visited the local market where we ate fresh sausage/shopped, went to the local finest chocolate shop, along the way visited many beautiful parks, stopped in the Jewish Quarter, went to a pub followed by tasting some local food and finally ended the afternoon on a speed boat ride on the river. Julia was personable and answered a LOT of questions for us.

The next day, we did a walking/driving tour of Budapest. I had NO idea we would accomplish seeing so many sites in one day. In reality, in less than 12 hours I felt like I saw the highlights of Budapest and met a new friend. Julia made us feel so comfortable and answered so many questions regarding history, culture and economy. She is quite knowledgeable of the history of Budapest. I must not close without saying Julia was very trustworthy. If you are looking for a tour guide, look no further. You are not going to find anyone better.

I liaised with Julia in the organization of a birthday trip for 11 guys. Julia gave invaluable advice, suggestions on activities based on the criteria I gave her, booked all the tours, transfers and even sourced the most amazing restaurants for them. My list of questions over the weeks were always answered quickly and gave me great confidence in the trip we were pulling together. On their return, they could not speak more highly of Julia. The tours that she organized and accompanied them on were all enjoyed tremendously and they thoroughly enjoyed her knowledge of Budapest. Julia is about the best of the best tour guides. She is the sweetest and so knowledgeable. I usually get very bored with guided tour guides but she has the ability to keep you interested and entertained. She also knows history and weird facts about everything!! 100 percent recommend and you won’t regret!

Four of us, two couples, happily toured Budapest and several other small towns with Julia for 2 days. She was so informative and obviously loves her city. She was completely flexible in terms of where we went and had lots of suggestions for us based on our interests.

We also hired a driver to enable us to maximize our time in Budapest as we wanted to do more than we had hours for!! Oh, and I guess some of you might be interested to know that the car was VERY clean and comfortable. Water was provided which was nice.

Our first stop, completely a surprise for Julia, was the Jewish quarter and synagogue. She gave us the full history of what we were seeing and made the whole experience so much more personal than just seeing a sight. I walked away just in awe of all she was able to explain and make come to life.

Julia was able to recommend wonderful restaurants. Try goose ragout if it’s on the menu!!

If you have the opportunity to go to Budapest, maximize your enjoyment and understanding by hiring Julia to take you around to the things that interest you. You won’t regret it at all.

We traveled with our son and daughter-in-law through Central Europe and took a day trip to Budapest with Julia as our tour guide. This was one of several tours we took in various cities. We all agreed that Budapest was the high point of our trip and that Julia was our favorite guide. She went above and beyond the call of duty during difficult circumstances to get us in and out of Hungary. Not only was Julia extremely knowledgeable about the history, customs and many beautiful places to visit in Budapest and it’s surroundings, she also has a very warm and sincere enthusiasm in communicating them. We visited many out of the way spots that only a true native would know about. What really sets Julia apart is her ability to share and relate her own life story and experiences to the recent history of Hungary, particularly the impact and effects of the German and Russian occupations on several generations of her family.
