My name is Julia Kravianszky and I adore Hungary.

I was born and raised in Budapest, I lived here all my life so I consider myself a real Budapester. Hopefully I can answer all your questions about my city. I’m a passionate and enthusiastic private tour guide with fluent English and French and I would like to show you around my beautiful country that I hope you’ll never forget.

I started tour guiding in high school and I always knew I couldn’t live without it. It’s not just my job but is my passion at the same time. I’m convinced that the best way to explore a city’s history and culture is through a local’s eyes, I also promise to reveal all the secrets and legends that only locals know about.

Let me help you to discover the most beautiful sights of Budapest and those of the countryside. Hungary has always been a fantastic melting pot of different cultures and people, and I’d be glad to show you all its different shades.

I organize the tours according to your preferences, I offer walking tours and tours in a comfortable car or minivan. In only a few hours you’ll learn everything you want and need about Hungary, its people and culture and I’m also glad to share all the secret stories and legends hidden around our beautiful buildings and monuments.

I’m photo editor of Hungary’s most popular food magazine, so feel free to ask me about the great Hungarian cuisine and our local traditions. I’d be happy to recommend nice places where you can taste our delicious food.

Planning a trip is time consuming but I might help you. Please contact me for further information. Read my blog posts to learn more about Budapest and about my private tours!

BEST OF PEST WALK

Julia is an enthusiastic and deeply knowledgeable guide. We had a private tour of the Pest side of Budapest, just two of us, and Julia curated our experience to include exactly what we wanted. She has impeccable English, a sense of humor, and a wealth of information.
Our three hours together went seamlessly and comfortably.

HALF-DAY BUDAPEST TOUR BY CAR

Julia is a true gem that is extremely knowledgeable and has a true love for her city. We took a 4 hour tour with her and she showed us many amazing facets of both the Pest and Buda sides of the river. The time went so quickly and she knew just the right places to take us. Just let her know what you want to see and she will take you. Her suggestion for dinner was even amazing. Do not hesitate to book her for anything that you would like to do.

HALF-DAY DRIVING HALF DAY WALKING BUDAPEST PRIVATE TOUR

In May we spent 4 nights in Budapest at the conclusion of a Uniworld River cruise. This was our first time in Budapest and we were anxious to experience this beautiful and historic city. Based on her TA reviews, my wife and I engaged Julia for a full-day tour of the city–half-day walk and half-day drive– for the second day we were in Budapest. I made the reservation 3 or 4 months in advance–she is very popular, stays booked, and advanced booking (as early is possible) is essential. We have been with a lot of excellent tour guides in Europe and Julia exceeded all. She is professional, knowledgable, fun, and has a passion for sharing her city with you. She also is very instinctive in understanding and providing the depth and level of information you are interested in, and adjusts the tour to accommodate your interests. We left with a great understanding of the city and a road map for our next several days in Budapest. The split between the walk and the drive was idea and allowed up to catch a number of sites driving in the morning before it got too busy. In the afternoon we walked which included taking the bus and the train (BTW as seniors, all public transportation is fee!). Finally, we had a wonderful lunch a local restaurant which Julia picked out. All in all, it could not have a better day. Highly recommend this tour to get an overview of Budapest and enjoy the day as Julia shares her city with you. Again, book early. She does require a small deposit upon booking to hold the date–I think it was about 30 Euro. Her website and booking process are very easy to navigate. 5-star experience.
